now i dont know much about this, i need some help, but there is alot of white stuff floating around in the tank, and its really thin, like a spiderweb almost, anyone have any suggestions as to what it might be, and what to do?

also ive been trying to cycle my tank for a while now, but the water just goes cloudy after a few days.should i leave the water cloudy, and then should it clear up? i have a heap but cheerful filter, it seems to keep them happy, but im worrid that the cloudines wont go away, so i just do a near full water change quite often..someone help?

Cloudiness is usually a bacterial bloom if it is white or milky in color. The siderweb looking stuff is a type of bacteria too, I believe and both are common in new, cycling tanks. What kind of filtration are you using and how many fish are in this tank? What size tank is it? Do you have any test kits? If not, you need to pick some up for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH is rather helpful sometimes too. If I were cycling with fish (and I have, darn BIO-Spira not working) then I suggest 50% water changes everyday. If you have test kits, simply test everyday and if ammonia, nitrites or nitrates are bad, then change. Your title mentioned something about pregnancy, but there was nothing in the post about it. Did you have another question?

hey harlock, thanks for replying.

I have been cycling my tank..i dont know what type of filter it is...it works on sctivated carbon. Ive been testing my water, and everything seems to be fine, ammonia levels are down, nitrite and nitrate are down. about the pregnancy, i have a black moor who is getting absolutely huge around the belly, and i was wondering if it could be eggs. a few days ago it turned over, and i fed it some green peas, and it flipped back round, but its staying on the bottom, kind of lying on its throat. it can move, but it swims tilted to one side? could this still be a bit of constipation, or could he just be stressed? i dont know how big the tank is, it has two comets, a celestial and an oranda (which is silver, even her eyes, il try and get a picture, never seen antyhting like her) the tank is about the size of three computers...if that helps..reply soon, cheers, fava.

Well, I'd lean toward constipation still, myself. I'm not that up on goldfish in all honestly so I thnk your best bet is to Google up fish disease or try the coldwater forum where you'll find more peoplpe with goldifish.
