Here is a thread where people were having similar problems: http://www.wilderssecurity.com/archive/index.php/t-60144.html

I don't know if it pertains to you, were you getting any error messages or was nothing at all happening?

Do a search for AVG anti-virus. They have a free for home use version on their website. My dad uses it and it works well.

Defender Pro IS Kaspersky. I believe the version sold at walmart for $10 is 4.5, version 5 is also available at walmart for $20. The only difference buying it at walmart or direct from Kaspersky is that the walmart version doesn't allow for product updates. They do however allow for virus definition updates and these come directly from kaspersky labs.

Man, it's a good thing we don't have warez bans.

Yea, nothing like a little illegal file sharing to get the day started.
