If by zebras you mean zebra danios, I would not recomend it. Zebras are fin nippers and chasers, and as we all know, guppies have nice, long nippable fins:)

Yeah, I recon the guppies would come out second best. Their rear quarters look like lunch, and they're too sslow to evade being nipped

Plus the fact that you would never see any offspring from your guppies... guppy fry REALLY look like lunch....

I have had guppies and zebra danios together forever. The zebra danios play amongst themselves. The guppies fins are all intact. I only wish either the adult guppies or the danios would consider the guppy fry lunch. The guppies can be quite the little nippers themselves.
word. I tried putting a betta into my community tank of swordtails & zebra danios. it wasn't pretty... a betta is pretty much DEFENSELESS against zebra danios.

I am planning on having a community tank of approx 20-30 zebra danios and about 20-25 fancy guppies. My dad used to breed them both and didn't have problems with them. My boyfriend also bred both at different times but neither had any problems with nibbling and being nibbled on. I am still going through with my plan and I'll tell you in a couple of months what the end result was!
