I have a 60g tank with two full grown Gold Severum's, a mid-sized Pleco and a black Knifefish that is about five inches long. The tank is pretty bare at the moment with only a couple smallish pieces of driftwood that the Knifefish and Pleco both hide in. I would like to add some more visual interest to the tank, both for my benefit and the fishes. I've made feeble attempts in the past to plant the tank (with the expected results) and would like to give plants a try again. I was wondering if anyone knew of some readily available vegetation that could stand up to a couple of bored Severms? I'm also considering adding some Danios (sp?) to the scene.

Wow, I just answered this question to somebody else on another board. I guess we all had the 'plants with severums' idea at the same time. :D Anyways, from my recent experience, I would have to say that plastic plants are the best choice for Severums. I recently tried Java Moss and Java Fern, but neither lasted very long. The severums obviously didn't like the taste of it because they kept spitting it back out, but apparently they thought the taste would be better the second, third, and fourth time around. They continued 'tasting' it until there was nothing left. :(
