My tetras are dying. Can anyone identify from these pictures what this is? The fish still acts fairly normal, looks like it has a bit of an abrasion, then it starts getting bigger, a bit pinkish and white stuff around the edges but I don't know if that is fungus, skin or secondary infection. After awhile the fish hangs out in a corner and eventually dies. I have lost two neons and three lemons in the last couple of days. The neons went real fast and didn't show any symptoms like the lemons.

It certainly looks like a fungus to me. You should be able to find a cure at your LFS for fungus. Fungus will attack the fish's skin and unlcerate it and after that, the abrasion will get bigger as the fungus actually starts to digest your fish from the outside. It seems to fit with the symptoms you are seeing.

we'd have to be sure what the fungus was first.
