How much algea is too much algea?

I have a algea problem. it almost looks like hair growing off the leaves of the plants. I've cut off most of the affected leaves and cleaned off the others. What should I do? How much algea is too much algea? ( 10 gal.-my tanks)

I dislike algae so even a little is too much for me. It's kind of a personal perference. How much light do you have and have you ID'd the algae? Check the algae sticky for a link to an algae guide that has pics. Once you ID it, you can determine how to treat for it, if you decide to.
