White larve on the glass and water

Could you post a picture?

Probably planaria. If they are free-swimming and on the glass and not attaching to any fish, then that is likely what they are. They are not harmful in and of themselves but they are indicative of too much nutrient in the water. They have to have a food source and usually it is decomposing food in the substrate. To get rid of them do some deep gravel vacuuming, and some big water changes daily for a few days to thin out their numbers. Then, see about cutting your feedings back some. Salt in the water can help, but without any idea what your fish are, I can't say for sure wether it is worth it. Some folks recommend quick cure, but why stress the fish over something that isn't harmful and can be treated easily enough? Onec the detritus is cleaned out and the fish are fedonly what they can eat, they'll have no way to thrive. Good luck.

I have something simila grow on my cichlid tank. They were just little bug like creatures that jumped around on the surface. The cichlids often went to the top and lunged at them.

They didn't seem to do any harm and after a few weeks they went away.

Has your tank been filled up all the way? They came in my tank when the water was below the plastic peice on the top. They seem to like the damp glass that isn't submerged. Keep your tank filled to the top and that might make them go away.

And you might not have the same thing as I had. There are thousands of insects after all. But that is how I fixed it.

harlock is right whne i saw this post it reminded me of somehting i had and i asked about at the lfs, i just vaccumed the gravel and did a 50% change and they were gone, he said i could use parasite medication too but i never needed it

Heh, yeah, that'll do it. Gravel Vac that sucker real well.

Sorry, I posted that earlier when I was a bit distracted. I read it just now and realized how stupid I sounded asking for a picture of such a tiny worm when I can't even seem to get a really good one of a 2 inch guppy. :o I seem to be embarrassing myself alot lately. [deep breath] :) I've had the same worms before too. They went away with a cleaning and I think the fish were eating them too. Again - sorry for the stupidity. :)
