I've trying using the search engine but couldnt find any answers. I have a Penguin 330 and 170 running in my tank. I also have two bubblewands across the back of the tank. The bubbles get into the filter intake and it makes a grinding noise. I was wondering if there's anyone here that had the same problem and how they went about fixing it. I tried searching the online hardware stores to see if they had an "S" shaped coupler but couldnt find one. Any help would be appreciated.

Your filter can only take in water. If it gets air or any other gas, it will make the noise you hear. So you will probably have to move your air stone.
Also, there should always be water in your filter before you start it. It won't pull in any water if it doesn't have water in it.
You might also try turning down your airstone if you can. Some of them are adjustable. Do you have an air pump thats too powerful?
You can put a sponge on the intake of your filter that may help keep some of the air out of it. But your best alternative is to move the air stone away from the filter. A sponge will probably slow the rate water is filtered.
