Until yesterday I had 8 Exodon Paradoxus (Bucktoothed Tetras) and 1 pictus cat. The bucktooths never messed with the pictus and kind of just chased each other around. Yesterday I added a paired convict couple and a spotted rapheal cat. The rapheal is not bothered at all. The convicts actually tried to settle where the pictus had taken refuge but they quickly were ran out by the pictus cat(did not know they were so aggressive). The pair of convicts I have seen chasing the exodons and also a couple exodons chasing them. The convicts seem to be doing ok, but I guess I will see in the long run. I am going to run by and pick up a few more hiding places today probably.

Any thoughts?

If you dont think that pictus is aggressive, then wake up, while they arn't as aggressive as many (or any) african convics or other lagre scary fish, but if anything tries to mess with it (or is small enough to fit in its mouth, then BEWARE! but how big are the tetras, if they are small tetras (im not familiar with bucktooth tetras) they may be eaten

Lobo,
Did you mean africans, (comma) cons, or were you implying cons are from Africa? There from S. America. Buck tooths are pretty hardy and somewhat agressive. I will agree that pictus cats are agressive in relation to other cats I have had. Hiding places will be good, how bigs tha tank?

My tank is a 55 gallon w/ a emperor 400 and a penguin 200 on it for filtration. So far the fish are pretty compatible. My exodons are anywhere from 2.5 to 3.25 inches long. The convicts are 2-2.5 inches and the pictus is about 3 inches. The exodons are extremely food agressive when I feed them, but the pictus and convicts seem to be able to handle their own when it comes to territory. Exodons have teeth is my only concern.

I have the answer to your problem pick a better team to support, maybe a winning team like say The Auburn tigers SEC champs :OT:

Oh you mean that tem that has never won a National Championship (unless of course the one when they were on probation that every barner counts).
