Preparing Base Rock

I am about to buy some base rock for my aquarium. How do I prepare it so I can put it in the auqarium with my LR which is already in there?? Should I just boil it, soak it, scrub it, and do this like 4 times, then put it in. OR should I do all those things plus add some chlorine or bleech to the water so incase anything is there, it dies. The rock is dry and dead when you buy it

Boiling it should be plenty as long as the rock came from a good source to begin with.

I'd just rinse it off to remove any dust or dirt. That's all I've ever done with the lace rock I buy.
