Well I want to put some fish in with my mollies in a 29 gallon tank
I dont care if it eats my fry or not. I am wondering if gouromies would be good tankmate. If anyone has any luck with tankmates of any other kind let me know. Oh not really interested in guppies or swordtails or platies. I have 5 mollies and 2 corrys.

Gouromies can be kind of agressive. You may be ok, but there is a good chance you may not be. I have zebra danios, Giant black danios, corry catfish and a betta in my tank. Im adding some mollies soon, so those are some fish that should be fine. Other than that, most small community fish should do fine.

Dwarf gouramis should not be a problem since they tend to be peaceful. Other types of gouramis you may need to be more careful with since some can be quite agressive. I have a mix of cories, neons, rasboras, guppies and 2 rams. Everyone seems to get along fine. Blue Rams are good looking fish and seem to be pretty bright. Mine knew I was the food source in two days and come to the top of the tank everytime I come in the room. I may be wrong but I believe mollies can be pretty good fin nippers, so a betta would not work very well.

First, you should round out that school of cories better. Add four or five more of the same variety you already have. Cory cats love to school and do better in groups. After that, you could add a dwarf gouramis if you wanted. A small school of tetras could also liven it up and color it up a little better as well. Lemon, neon, black neon; all would be fun choices for your tank. You can click the link in my sig to see what I keep with my mollies in a 29 gallon. Hope that helps, and good luck!

I agree with Harlock about upping the cories and agree again with the dwarf gourami suggestion. Gouramis are beautiful, had I known what I know now and I would have gotten a dwarf instead of my beloved butthead opaline for my 29- a BETTER FIT AND MORE PEACEFUL.

You have a lot of choices with just Mollies and corys in your tank. A gourami should be fine. I have had that combonation with no issues. You will have to be carfeul about what you add to your tank after you get a gourami though....as they can be aggressive. And i agree with the others....dawrf gouramis are much more peaceful, so aggression wouldnt be too much of a concern with them.

I also have a dwarf gourami in a tank with mollies... they hang out together as though they were the same species or something.
