I am getting my discus soon and i was wondering what kind of plants will they like, i was thinking amazon frogbit, floating plants, are these any good, i gatvered as they were from the amazon that they wuld be perfect, any discus keepers got any tips?
 
Discus like soft, relatively dark water, with some cover for security.
Most plants are fine for them, but Crypts. and Swords are especially appreciated.
Given the right conditions, they can/will spawn on Amazon Sword leaves.

How can i make my water soft, does bog wood make it softer?
 
Yes, many types of wood will soften the water. But you may not have to soften it.
What are the kH/gH and pH of your water?
Discus are much more adaptable to water parameters than people give them credit for.
Please post the above numbers for reference.

I will have to get anoth ph test kit yet, ill get one tommorow.
