I've had a Chaetostoma plec (rubberlip/bulldog) for about 6 months now. When I first got him he was out and about regularly, if briefly, especially at feeding time. He used to defend his mopani cave and fight off the silver dollars from the algae wafers. But he's got more and more reclusive, he prefers a crevice between some slate now where you can hardly see him and only comes out to eat his cucumber. Is this normal? & if it is any suggestions as to how to coax him out a bit more?

Do you think he's become more comfortable with his surroundings over time? He may just really like his new hiding spot. They are evening types that like to eat at night, so see what happens when you turn off the light.

I reckon he's happy enough, just seems a shame we can't see more of him. He doesn't bother coming out on the glass anymore even with the light off, oh well.
Thanks for reply
