Sounds like you are on the right track - just keep monitoring - maybe hold off on getting any more fish until you are holding stable for a few weeks or more. I used bio spira in a 75 with about 15 fish and it worked fine - per their directions on the package and on their website, you do have to add the fish at the same time to make it work properly. Good Luck!
how come th ePh went down...
and how long before any Nitrates showed up???
Thax for ur input

The ph drop might be due to the drift wood and fish poop...when I used the bio spira, I got a very low ammonia reading after a few days and the nitrates went up a little after a few weeks...stabilized real quick.
nice..
i have ordered plants and they will be here on Monday.. can i add them or i should wait..

I added plants and fish and BIO-Spira all at once. It could lead to an algae problem, but again, it might not. If the BIO-Spira takes a bit to kick in full force and there are a lot of ammonia and nitrites along with the lights to make the plants grow, it could be enough to feed some algae. Even then, it may balance itself off once the biofilter is established. So, It's up to you. If you're willing to scrape a little, you could add them. If you hate algae and never want to deal with it, I'd wait a bit.
