We had our upstairs carpet cleaned and my brother didn't put a towel over his 10g fry tank...It developed a white film all over the top of the water, so we moved the fry to our 55g, and he gave the 10g to me. Now I want to use it as a hospital tank, but first I need to disinfect it.
I was thinking about using a weak bleach solution(don't have any Oxi-clean). Any ideas? Thanks :)

Bleach works great, and the dechlorinator you use for water changes will also work to rid the tank of bleach.

You dont have to clean it, if it was beeing used a little while before. But to be safe use a 1part bleach to 30part water solution. You can put this in the tank, wipe, and use a super strong dechlor sloution to wash it off.

Well, I guess I won't use bleach because of the risk. I have a 1200psi pressure washer that I washed everything off with. I guess that's good anough...

If the tank was set up before, and did not sit for a long time it should be ok. If the media is dry replace it, and cycle your tank.

Lots of water and letting it sit in the sun for a while dry will help eliminate toxins. Vinegar is a great non toxic aquarium cleaner.
