4 weeks and I finally see something in the live rock. Should I be worried? It came out of one hole in the fiji live rock and into another hole and disappeared. It looked kinda pinkish with lots of legs on the sides. Is it dangerous? I read about some guy finding a 7 ft worm in his tank and I really don't like snakes or creepy crawlies.
Thanks

It's a bristle worm, they are not a particularly welcome guest but seem to arrive in the tank via live rock. They can be nasty when they grow larger and prey on fish, I removed some from my tank recently that were up to 8 inches long. Yuk
Set a bristle worm trap or I believe a spider can have a liking for them, my spider crab proved this theory wrong, guess it must be a vegetarian :D

Bristleworms are very welcome detrivores in my tanks. The one you read about was a different species than the common ones we see with live rock--that little guy likely won't get bigger than 7-8 inches. While they can be creepy at that size, they do more good than bad in an aquarium. Heck--I ADD bristleworms to my tanks.
