I bought a striped peacock eel the other day. He is only about 5-6 inches long. Right now he is in a 5 gallon tank with a few guppies and some ghost shrimp. I have been giving him some frozen blood worms, but I'm not sure if he has been eating. I was hoping that he would notice the guppies or shrimp but he hasn't yet. Any advice about feeding my peacock?

i use to have 2 spiny eels and i wld take the frozen blood worms and put em in a bowl w/a little water and defrost them,. go to supermarket and get a turkey baseter, i use to squeeze up the worms in the turkey baseter and the eels wld know it feeding time, they wld stick their long noses in the baseter and i wld squeeze just a little out at a time ,. they wld gobble them up. "sorry about the spelling"
eels are tricky in my opinion you sorta have to hand feed them, i found that they get use to knowing that the big long tube of the turkey baseter means food,. they are very socialable and like to interact with their owners.
" im raising 5 American eels right now and it is a bit of a challenge"
good luck

I'm hoping the 5 is just for quarantine...

Give the eel 4-5 days to get used to the tank. Offer food, but make sure it doesn't go to waste--live fish and shrimp are not a great option for a small eel, as these small mouthed predators can choke on large food items. Frozen meaty foods, blood worms, small chunks of earthworms, are a better option.

The original poster indicated the eel is in a 5 gallon tank. I'm hoping this is a quarantine setup, and not the long term home for the fish.

Nice to see someone from my area, southeastern N.C. are you concerned about the 5 gallon? I have him in that for now, but will be moving him to my 30g when he has grown a little and begins to eat hardily. Don't think he is ready for community tank just yet.
