i was thinking about getting this little plants but ive heard horror stories about it- anybody have hints on keeping it alive and growing, i have flourite and 4wpg in a 12 gal. thanks.

That's a lot more light than you'll need for C. parva but as is the case for many low light tolerating plants, it will do fine for you under 4 wpg.
They tend to pick up a lot of algae, similar to Anubia when over lit. I would suggest you shade it a bit.
Otherwise, IME there are no great difficulties growing it.

thanks for the info, the way my tank is set up they would still get a good amount of light, but the hygros and the ambulia will give it some shade, too. thanks!
