My current background is plain brown cardboard. If I want to change the color I will buy colored posterboard.

My ex spraypainted some posterboard with a cool design when she got me my tank, I just use that, taped on the corners to the back of the tank

Believe it or not, my preferred backround is car window tinting. My husband is an expert at applying it and we seem to have it laying around the house a lot. You can buy car window tint at walmart for pretty cheap. You want to get the darkest you can/ limo grade. As long as you apply it right (on the outside of the back glass) it never gets bubbles, won't slide around, looks very smooth, there is no taping and it will be permenent until you decide to take it off.

lol i was too cheap to buy a background so i just cut out a few pics of Wizards and dragons on a blue background from an old calendar and it actually looks suprisingly good as my m8s who also have fish have all asked me if i have anymore so that they could use them on theirs
