i am soon getting my new tank. its going to be close to 900 litres. I currently have a sailfin that is just over a foot long. I would like to add another, maybe two plecs to the new tank, but was wondering how the sailfin would take to this idea. I would really like to add a royal and a blue eyed plec. Would this be feasable?

900 liters = roughly 240 gallons, correct?

If thats the case, they should be fine. Adult plecos can be quite a bit more territorial than juveniles, though. I currently have a Sailfin and a Royal(both juviniles), and 4 other small plecos in a 90 gallon. They get along just fine. A 240 should be sufficient room for both, given enough hiding spots and plenty of driftwood.

Yes, that should be OK, but I'd still keep a close eye on'em for awhile, Sailfin Plecos can be very territorial to other Sailfin Plecs and similar Plecs.
The Royal's and the Blue Eyed varieties can be very tempermental about water quality and the tank being mature, I'd take great care with both these varieties as they are usually moderate to exspensively priced.

Our original Sailfin is about 16" and he shares his tank with another Sailfin and 3 common plecos. Charlie (the original guy) is very territorial and will chase any of the other ones who come within a foot of where ever he happens to be at the time. He thinks he owns the whole tank - and he basically bullies the other guys out of his way. :p
