i did a 20% water change in my tank and now one of the fry is swimming really weird, in circles and making loops. i removed it from the main tank and put it in a cup with tank water. any idea??
Some fry... just get sick.
Sorry to say, but because they're so delicate there's not much you can do.
Good luck though, Chris :)

thank you, emily!
im bummed! today my apple snail died, i mean, i've put him in this small container, he's been there since this morning without moving. i tried to touch him and pull him out of his shell since part of his body is sticking out, but nothing. i then thought he was really dead and threw him out in the trash can. then i went to this apple snail forum and found out they can be like that for 3 days and not be dead! i hurried up to the trash can and rescued him. i know, im a dork! but i really thought he was already dead!
now, this with the fry... the rest of the fry look fine tho... :(

now, this with the fry... the rest of the fry look fine tho... :(Yeah, sort of natural selection. In the wild many fry die. Usually the sick or deformed go first as they are unable to really take cover and hide out properly from predators. In an aquarium environment you see these occasional deaths from fish that would never have lasted longer than it took for their mother to turn around and eat them. It's sad, but a fact of raising fry.
Survival of the fittest!!
I get sad whenever any fish dies.. or is sick.. sometimes I'll cry!! so I know how you feel Chris :)

omg! when my balloon died... i couldnt stop crying... i mean, i know it might sound ridiculous, but that's the way i am...
anyways, the fry keeps swimming weird... loops, spiral, upside down, it's like she's having some kinda convulsion... then it stops for like 5 seconds and start all over again... man, it must be tiring... it's gonna die of exhaustion!!! it's in a small plastic cups (those you get when you buy bettas), i need to go to sleep, should i leave it there or should i put it back in the breeding net with its brothers in the main tank???

aquabatics! lol
i woke up this morning and to my surprise she was still alive even after having spent the night in a small plastic cup without heater or any other equipment!! so, i put het back in the breeding net w/ her brothers. still doing acrobatics tho.
