tank size

hey,
anybody know how i can calculate the size of my tank?

i have found many of these types of calculaters, but my tank is a unusal shape, (the attachment at the top shows it), and i cant find a way to measure correctly the amount of water it holds

With a tank that small, you could just empty it into a barrel and calculate the volume using the cylinder volume formula.

(Unless you already have fish in it.)

i do alreay have fish in it,

im guessing (breaking it apart in rectanges and squres) that its about a 15 gallon

Imagine two tanks, one as a rectange(back) and the front as a trapezoid. The Volume of the back part is 7.01 gallons. If you could tell the the depth of the front part, then I could tell you exactly how many gallons it is. Given the back section is 7 gallons, and the front section is smaller, you probaby have a 10 to 12 gallon tank. See attached picture

I figgured it out. I used the pythageroum(sp) theory or whaterver its called. 5.5 squared equels 4 (22.5-14.5/2) sqiared + x squared. X squared equels 3.77. That was the measurement I asked for in my last post. So now to find the area. (B1+B2*h)/2. Multiply that by the height of the aquarium (12 inches) to get 836 cubic inches. 836 cubic inches equels 3.6 gallons. So your tank is 10.67 gallons. Unless I messed up at my math.

that kinda sux its only a 10g, i was thinking it was a 15, im going to have to rethink how many fish i want to get now
