I hope someone has heard of this. I am having trouble finding it. I lost one fish and two more have the same symptoms. The look normal accept the fact that they are becomming slow and sluggish and it appears they have sunken bellies. The closest thing I have found is Fish Wasting disease. Do you think this coule be it?

It could be. Hollow belly is caused by different things. Have there been any other indicators? Clear, stringy poop, etc?

Nothing that I have seen. As far as I can tell all floating samples appear solid and normal. I have natural color substrate which makes it a little difficult to really notice though.

if the fish has stringy waste, you'll most likely see it hanging from the fish, it seems to take longer to "fall off" than normal waste

With only lethargy and sunken bellies it will be hard to diagnose. Lethargy comes with a myriad of fish diseases and sunnken stomachs are pretty common to many things.

My biggest worry is that it might be terberculosis. I don't see any of the other signs though. The only other thing I noticed was red gills. I believe the main cause of this is ammonia poisining. These were the fish in the tank during the cycling phase. I assumed that the red gills were left over from that. The ammonia has always been zero since the cycling but the red gills never went away.

One of my Otto's had the stringy poop but both of them appear appear normal. Moving around and munching like normal.

Hmm, Any rapid breathing going on, also, what exactly are you water parameters at the moment?

Breathing appears normal. Aboult a gulp every 1 to 2 seconds. Sometimes as long as 4 seconds.

OK. just finished the timers.

Temp=76
PH between 7.0 and 7.2
Ammonia 0 (Nice and bright yellow)
Nitirite 0 (Nice and bright blue)
Nitrate about 2.5 (just a hint of color beyond the normal yellow)

Well, with a lack of more definite symptoms and water params looking fine all I can figure is some sort of internal parasite. But since I cannot give a definitive answer I am not at all comfortable with diagnosis and much less treatment. Maybe someone else has some thoughts.
