My tank is starting to grow some black hair algae and green spot algae. I have common snails and 3 otos that don't seem to eat it. It isn't really out of control, but its on my sword plant and a few others. I have removed all of it from the glass.
My tank is planted so would like to avoid plecos because they sometimes eat plants and siamese algae eaters due to their agressiveness. Are there any other options that will remove these types of algae? I would like to add something living such as a fish or shrimp. I have been looking at red cherry shrimp and was wondering if they will work. Ghost shrimp are also readily availible. I can't think of any other fish that would work.
I don't really have an algae outbreak, it is just growing in a few spots. I would like to avoid chemicals at all cost too because of my live plants.
My tank is 38 gallons with 3 otos, 7 zebra/lepard danios, several live plants, and DIY Co2.
