Oranda spitting up food

My oranda keeps pellets down just fine. When I feed him flake food (Omega One Goldfish Flakes) he takes it in, seems to work it in his mouth for 3 or 4 minutes and then hurls it out. Has anyone seen this behavior and have any insight??

Some goldfish are just like this... they have lots of personality. Although it usually happens with pellets and not flakes, it is the same concept. Goldfish (and fish in general), like things that seem familiar to them. Give it time; s/he may start accepting the flakes. ;)
