Hey guys! I was just wondering where everybody got their driftwood?

I bought mine from Big Al's online. I think it looks nice and I would do it again. In my 125 gallon I intend to use a big old gnarly bit of "desert driftwood" which is a scrub cedar root ball that has made its way to the surface. Interesting looking stuff.

LFS should carry driftwood.
You can also get it from the wild, BUT you must make sure its from a clean water source. Also, you need to prepare it more than store bought wood. More risks involved (although precautions can be taken) to make it ok.
The good thing about store bought wood is that it sinks right away.

Most of mine comes from the lake at my cottage in Quebec's Eastern Townships.
It is boiled numerous times (min 6) to sterilize and to make sure that all the unseen nasties are gone.
I then usually silicone it to a piece of slate or rock.

could you use driftwood that you found on the beach? Or would that not work in a freshwater tank?
