ok, i'm getting my butt back in gear on this 300gal.
I'm re-building the top. (long story, didn't like old one.)

I have a question on the lighting.
I have 2 - 4' shop lights that hold 2 - 40w tubes each. (4 tubes total)
I have 4 - Aqua/plant tubes from Lowes.
Do i need to have "Aqua Tubes" if i don't have live plants?
At 160w total, thats .5 Watts per gallon.
Is that ok, just to see the fish?

tank is, 7'L x 3'W x 2'T
I love using the shop lights - shop lights are $7 each, and tubes are $5 each. total spent $34!!!

let me know what you think on the lights.

The lights have to be Aquarium certified, so no they dont have to be special lights. The ones from Lowes would do fine, that's what I curently have on my 55gal.
