which is the best actinic? the 420nm(6700 k) or the 460nm(10000 k)?

420 is more true actinic the 460 and above is getting more purple.

personal preference really. I know of no studies that show corals benefit from one over the other.

Well if your trying to replicate the natural reef (hard to do in blue spectrum) you would want to use true actinic.

so ur saying that the 420 bulb, is better when trying to replacate the natural reef? and i have a 420 bulb and it's more purple then the 460 side of my other dual actinic bulb?

I'm with slip on this one, I think it probably makes only a small difference.
