What did my goldfish do?!!!

When I got home the ornaments were knocked over and one of their bubble bars was disconnected. Two of my fish look really beaten up! They seem okay but I can't stand to look at the marks on them. After a water change and me adding some plants, I found some eggs stuck to the glass lid and dried up. They must have really had a wild night! Can the mating get that violent? They have mated before and it never used to be that way.

It's my 75 gal. tank. I know it is overstocked; it has only Comets in it. There are nine of them. I started with 6 of them, lost one, and like I said, they have mated a few times before. Some of the babies have survived. They are really great though. They have such personality. And, they like me. They are always happy to see me and try to follow me when I walk by their tank.

This is the first time that they actually beat eachother up like that though. They made a mess of eachother and the tank. I changed the water again and took the larger ornament out and fixed everything else again. I also added the plants to help with the nitrates. We'll see how things look tomorrow.
