Blueline - Moon Light

Are you talking about just a blue night-light or a specific product? If the latter, do you have a link? I rigged up a 7w incandescant red bulb for night viewing. Put it on a photo sensor (couple bucks from HD) so it comes on when the lights go off. Works fine. As far as I can tell, my nocturnal critters don't seem to notice it. I'm going to do something similar for my new tank, and was looking into using LEDs. Candy-cheap from Radio Shack, and it's a softer glow than the 7w bulb. I would also be able to string a line of them across the tank for more evenly distributed night lighting than I have now.

We have one Moon-Glo bulb over our 75g FW planted. We ordered it from big Als. It casts a ver pretty deep blue over the whole tank. However it still seems pretty bright. My plec does come outmore once it is on after the others go off but he is still more active in the complete dark. I don't know how SW would react.

I was thinking about getting one of these units as well but have not seen them for sale locally, If anyone knows of an online dealer let me know. Raven, were you looking at the ones with the moon cycle programed into a timer that recreates the natural moon cycle? I read that this can be benificial for coral reproduction, which would create a lot of food for other corals and such.

Lights up the whole tank pretty well. Im considering buying one of those wall dimmers to control them as if they were moon lighting.
