I just bought to Albino cory cats today. They seem to be swimming mostly at mid level in the tank and occationally skimming the very top of the water. Is this usual for cory's

Thanks,

Ryan W.

Do you have information on the size of your tank, or the water parameters?

And what other fish are in there?

Hi there!

Ive got 5 panda cories in a 20gallon tank and although they spend most of their time on the mid to bottom area of the tank, they do occasionally swim up the front of the tank and almost to the top. They also do this on the sides as well. It looks to me like they are playing as they all are healthy and eating well. They kind of play a follow the leader type game :)

Hope this helps. :)

Its a 10gal tank, i have two dwarf groumi's in with the two albino corys. The corys are swimming around like crazy. Last night bf i went to bed I noticed they were sleeping at the bottom of the tank and now again today they are all over the place. All water parameters are good.

Cories do that. They'll do absolutely nothing for quite a while, then for no apparent reason, zoom around the tank for hours. Every once in a while I'll hear a *blurp* from my tank, and it's my cory, after having zoomed around for a bit, almost jumping out of the water to take a gulp of air, then zooming around again. I can't wait to add another couple of cories when I get home this weekend and see how the dynamics change. Will be fun!!!

We have albino cories...I love watching them zoom up to the top of the tank, seem to take a gulp, then zoom back down --- they usually release an air bubble too.

I love it when the cories wink....they're so cute! :)

When I had a bubble wall, my cories would ride the bubble current to the surface, then zip back down again to start over. They were spazzes... they'd be immobile for hours, then they'd ride the bubble current for quite a while. Fun to watch!
