Current problem

Okay guys, this is a more fun problem then I have had in the past lol.

I have a 10g with 2 male mollies, a dwarf gourami, and a rubberlip pleco. The bigger of the mollies has started chasing the other one around pretty incessently... not being mean, but the little one keeps following and picking at him like he's trying to mate, and the big one eventually gets pissed off and chases him around for a while.

I have a 75 that is cycled but not yet fully stocked... it has angels, cories, guppies, and neon's in it.

Okay... I figure that the aggression could be solved by either seperating them, or putting them together with females. So, how would you guys handle the situation... some ideas I had were to put one in the 75, to put them both in there with some females and move the neons or the guppies to the little tank, put the pleco and gourami in the big tank and add females to the little one... ideas are welcome :)

Umm, the angels gonna eat the neons and possibly the guppies, BTW.
 
I agree, angels will eventually realize that the neons fit in their mouths. Anything that fits in their mouths will most likely become food. Maybe, the guppies(adults, less likely) baby guppies for sure, but that could be a bonus, LOL. I would move the platties into the 75 and move the neons into the ten. If you do that, you may have problems with the gourami picking on the neons, so you may want to at least leave some space for the gourami, if not move it now, not for sure tho.

If you separate them and provide them with females, you will have babies to deal with. Maybe the extra room and possible hiding spaces in the 75 will be enough. Maybe get some females in the 75 and let the angels take care of the babies? Watch out with the angels too, I don't know how many you have but if you get 2 that decide to pair off, you will have a mess to deal with. They become pretty aggressive when they decide to mate, but at least the 75g will give them some room. Maybe the other fish will learn to leave them alone.
 
the angels are juvy's... i have 4 right now and am going to get 2 more when i see two that look healthy and my wife thinks are pretty.

A lot of people say that the neon's will be fine so long as the angels grow up with them...

but i think i'm going to swap the neon's for the mollies and the gourami. The guppies in the angel tank were because i figured the angels may like some fry as a treat from time to time... molly fry would fit the same bill.
 
Move the neons and guppies to solve the Angel eating problem. Add the mollies to the 75 with 2 females a piece. Voila!
 
I allready did actually... i just decided to go ahead and do it, so the mollies and the gourami are in the big tank, and the neons are in the small one.

One of the two guppies is very large and pregnant... I don't think moving her would be a good idea. Even so, 6 neons and a rubberlip pleco in the ten... i don't know if putting 2 guppies in there is a hot idea. We'll just have to see what happens... by the time any of the angels are big enough to think of them as dinner I'm pretty sure I'll have bought another tank lol ;)

Spoken like a true addict. Heh, good luck and start planning now. I enjoy endlessly planning new tanks.
 
Right now I'm planning the big tank for my in-laws... they want their basement to have a giant fishtank wall :) I get to plan, build, and set it up... they get to pay for it lol.
