new to cichlids check the water before put in the fish everything was fine put in the fish 1 week checked the water lots of nitrates I never cycled or knew about it can someone explain I already have the fish in the tank and added bacteria to elminate NH3 and NO2 been three days help me get through this please :bowing: :bowing: :bowing: :bowing: :bowing:

What did you add to the water? Some products (e.g., Cycle) are known to contain high levels of nitrates.

Im not sure i understand what your saying, but the best advice i can give is to do water changes. That will lower the nitrates. Do 20% (more if the levels are dangerous) bi-weekly until all your tank parameters are fine...
