Maybe a large snail just to add an extra dimension. I'd plant it too, but I'd plant a water jug if I thought my wife wouldn't get mad that I ruined the water...

So a betta, 2 ADF's and 2 cories? is that ok? What's a cardinal?

We have an Eclipse System 6 (since last november) and it's stocked with:
2 Albino Cories
2 Long Finned Leopard Danios
2 ADF
2 Golden Apple Snails
1 Small Ramshorn Snail.

Planted with 1 Amazon Sword and some hornwort.

It's on the edge of being overstocked, but water changes keep the nitrates down and everyone gets along just fine (although the danios nip at each other a little bit).

So I think, correct me if I'm wrong, My Betta, 2 AFD's and 3 cories would be ok...

I'd imagine, yeah. But keep an eye on the nitrates. Also, give the ADFs a good place to hide (one of mine hides behind the heater and the other in a cave that made from a rock)

And with the ADF, while they will eat flake food that makes it to the bottom, they really like frozen bloodworms.

Cardinal Tetras...great schoal to have in a smaller tank cause they are not spastic swimmers like rummy nose or other schoals...they like to hang out in one spot.

And these won't nip at the betta or the other way around?

I can tell you for sure they wont nip the Beta...but im not 100% on vice versa.....anyone know if the beta will attack the Cardinals?

Jess,
I would probably hold off from adding anything else besides a snail. Anything else would just over load the tank. I think its pretty close to maxing as is. There isnt much you can do with a 5 gallon tank. Pure and simple, if you want alot of fish, go bigger in tank size.

So just one betta and 2 ADF's? or do you mean with the cories included?

I wouldn't put any cories in the tank. Cories need to school to be happy, and just having a couple is kinda cruel. With Cories, I keep a min of 6 to a tank. Keep what you have. The Frogs will produce enough waste anyway so you will have to do weekly water changes.

I agree with that. The cories would add too much to the bioload PLUS wouldn't be happy. There's just too many cons and not enough pros, to me..
