Hi I want to get into corals.....slowly.....but first want to make sure I have the necessary systems to support them. Right now I have 10000k pc a smart compact and actinic pc each 32 watts not nearly enough light for my new needs if I have that correct. So I want to get into mh or much larger pc's. Problem is I have a 54 aga corner tank and I am having trouble finding a fixture that can accomidate 300+ watts or what I would prefer would be to get a canopy oak preferably in black to match my aga stand that is oak shiplapped, can anyone direct me to a resource to get either a hood that can accomidate this much wattage or better yet a canopy that I can custom build my own light system into, the canopy with custom lights would be my prefered option. I have found bri customs sells unfinished shiplapped canopy but mucho deniro are there any other options.

Please help me with all your vast knowledge!!!!!

they make a retro fit 2x96 watt PC that u could put under a canapy, i dont know if it'll fit ur tank or not... seeing it's a corner and teh bulbs are 3ft long... they make MH fixtures that u could probably put under there... hope someone gives u a bit more info... seeing how i just got into corals my self...

My brother got a nice halide fixture from Innovative Lighting.Good product, reasonably priced, but the best thing is Great customer service.I just bought 4 65w pc bulbs from them off of ebay for 39.99.They have the true actinic 03 which I have found to be the best for good growth and color.Anyway, one of the bulbs was broke(not from their packaging, there was a smashed corner on the box)and when I called them I talked to Steve and let me tell ya, easily one of the nicest people I have ever dealt with.Needless to say,he shipped the bulb priority that day and I got it 2 days later.Steve also told me that if you found anyting cheaper(fixtures, retro kits, bulbs)he would match their price. These peopl seem like they really care about their customers and would go the extra mile for ya.check out their ebay auctions or their web site.hope this helps.
