HI guys,
I currently have a 72 gal bow front tanks with 1.3 watts/Gal of normal output light.
I am thing of upgrading the lights

I don’t want to add CO2. But might do so later on…

I was think of get 4*65 watts of PC lighting
This will put me at 3.6 watt/gal
I know without CO2 I am looking at algae problem..

My question is what if get th e upgraded light and leave the lights on only for maybe 7 hrs a day. :idea2:
Will my tank be o.k.

The reason I am goin with 4*65 watts is that I might go with CO2 later on, so I rather invest right now

Please help
Oooh here are the lights i want Link

With 3.6 watts, your going to need Co2. You should buy a kit where you can keep only half the lights on. Two of the 65 on would be good.

haha.. ooohh Jonathan03... sometimes i am such a goof..
the light i was looking at has 2 switchs, so you can light 2*65 watts at one time..

Thax for your reply..

Well that still might not be what you want. One switch might be for each side so you have both light on the same side and nothing on the other. I have never bought one of these lights, but you should check.

Even if it works like this, its easy to add a switch. It might even be easier to just take out one of the bulbs. But I'm not sure if you can run a double with only one bulb. Maybe someone else knows.

You can defiantely rewire it though so one bulb is on each side.
