I recently found out I have .25ppm of ammonia in my tap water. I was wondering is there any other alternative to getting rid of ammonia besides buying water from the store? I've seen stuff at the pet store that gets rid of ammonia but I know some of them can harm the bio-wheel. Are there any that won't though?

Buy a water conditioner called Prime. It detoxifies the ammonia into ammonium. Then you'll want a test kit that is salicylate based and not a nessler-based test (salicylate usually have 2 reagents) so you Don't get false ammonia readings.

Thanks a bunch Harlock! I really wasn't looking forward to lugging around giant containers of water back and fourth during water changes.
