wow, big crack, if you want you could replace the pain.
i would not risk a patch job with such a huge crack and it would look ugly too
what happend if your don;t mind me asking

i actually dont know. when i got home i simply found my house flooded and the poor turtle scared on the top of her basking area, but one week before i got this piece of cork bark to use as a basking area for her and my b/f cut it to fit in there, but i think it was still too large and put too much pressure on the glass.
this is a terrarium so i could only fill it up half way with water... my b/f is going to order another tank for her, but then i was thinking about reinforcing this tank and make it an aquarium for my fish! it's a 60g tank, brand new and cost me $300 :(

was the board where the crack begins. also you might want to check if your aqaurium is level, maybe there was just too much pressure on that one pain. but since it was not filled i dought it. maybe the turtle fell and hit the glass, or something moved and hit the glass, or there may have been a small crack that finally split

yep, that's where the board was.
i guess i'll never know what happened for sure

I do not think the turtle would be large enough to crack it. BUT it does look like a stress fracture. Anything glass has a sweet spot and will crack with a tiny bit of pressure. The front plane is useless. You could get another piece from a glass and reseal it but you can get new tank for a 100.
