ok im in the process of stocking and decorating a 30gal tank that is cycled and right now i have two gouramis, a bala shark(in there till it getss to big), a rainbow shark, zebra loach, panda cory, and reg pl*co.
ok now i have gotten mixed answers on this from people who work at pet shops could i keep a male betta in the 30gal with the other fish cuz i really dont know iv hered he will kill every thing in there or something will kill him or they will get along just fine so any help would be good
 
No you cannot keep a male or even a female betta in that tank safely. Bettas and Gouramis belong to a group of fish known as anabantid. Anabantids will fight one another. So, one or both of the gouramis and the betta might have a go at one another. Sometimes even gouramis will fight amongst themselves.

Gouramis even nip bettas fins.
In 4 words: NOT A GOOD IDEA!!!!
