Red Capped Orandas are a species of fancy goldfish. They can live in water that does not have a heater. They will withstand a wide temperature range but temperature swings are not good for them or any other fish for that matter, so a heater can keep your temp. more stable. They can grow quite large so that little guy may eventually need your 30g or larger all to himself. A good temperature range would be 68-72 F. Feed flakes or pellets and occasionally a treat such as peas, zuchinni, lettuce,etc... You can probably find more information if you search the species profiles on this site.
