i have a few fry in my tank and i was wondering which pair of fish they came out of. i have 3 fancy guppies 2 black mollies and 3 common guppies(wild type) i put the males and females together at the same time about a month ago. which set has the shortest gestation period? I cant tell by looking which fish they are out of.

You won't be able to figure this out. Gestation periods are about the same. On top of that, females store sperm for like six months sometimes, so can get pregnant without a male for a while. If any of these fish had contact with males before you brought them home, then they very well could have been pregnant. So, I hope you enjoy surprises.
Your best bet is in knowing your fish. Does one suddenly seem skinnier than she did a few days ago? If so, it's likely that she is the mommy.
