Ok, I've seen reference from both Timmain and Harlock about PC games they've played and now I'm curious. Who here has played online computer games and what were/are your characters?
I'll 'fess up. I just recently quit, but I have a 67 rogue in Everquest. What about you guys? :)

I played Gemstone 3 and 4 online. It's a MUD. I'm not into flashy graphics. I liked the text-based game because it forces people into a more roleplay mentality, I always felt.

Ah, cool. I tried a MUD once, but I'm not quite computer literate enough and felt stupid, LOL...I need the graphics. I get lost enough in virtual worlds where I can see where I'm going, much less try to figure it out from text alone.

Well, I quit because they were raising their prices and wanted to cash in on my characters. It was around Christmas time and my wife's birthday too, so I was able to give some nice gifts off of the $350 bucks I made, and also save some for my 29 gallon planted tank.
I played Everquest for 2 or 3 years. Highest I ever got was a 55 Shaman. I could never keep up with any of my friends due to always having a job. I quit a little over a year ago. I hated paying the money every month and I got bored with it. I also noticed that it was getting harder and harder to be able to see my feet. I only gained about 100 pounds from the time I started playing to the time I quit. Lost 80 of those in the last year so I'm glad I quit. I've thought about playing World of Warcraft but I have a "fat" picture of myself on the fridge to remind me everytime I think about it. :)

I play Counter Strike Source frequently, and have also played Joint Operations, America's Army, Half Life 2 Death Match, and RTCW Enemy Territory.
I play the odd game of the Battlefield mod Forgotten hope. It's fun

I play Quake 2 on Gamespy when I get the chance between water changes and my other hobbies....

I haven't played any of those other games listed but I've briefly tried Ultima Online, Anarchy Online, EQ2, SWG and Dark Age of Camelot. I liked EQ2 until I got into my 20's then it just became work and I quit. I haven't really found any other games that I like...oh well. It was nice having an indoor hobby for the long winters of Minnesota, but I guess I'll have to find something else for next year, unless a new game comes out. :D (I'm thinking of taking up snowshoeing, but that will really depend on how motivated I can be when it's less than 20 degrees outside. Motivation really tends to take a nosedive at that point, hehe...)
Oh, and that's too funny Damien. I know exactly what you mean, too! Good idea w/ the picture on the fridge, LOL!
Well, thanks for sharing, everyone! :)

I've never tried that one, but I watched my boyfriend play it. I understand it's supposedly a very entertaining, fast-moving game, but the graphics put me off. I really don't like the "cartoonish" look that the game has. A LOT of my former guild members have left EQ for WoW and they really love it. Maybe I'll give it another try next winter when I am somewhat house-bound again.
I love MMORPG's and have played nearly all of them: UO, EQ, AO, SWG, Planetside (the first MMOFPS), DAoC, EQ2, Lineage, but the end-all be-all of games for me is WoW. I'm a giant fan of Blizzard and the only way WoW could have been better for me is if it was World of Starcraft.

I've been playing WoW on and off since release. It's a lot of fun but sure makes the time disappear. Anyone play on Eonar by any chance?

Wow..I didn't realize there as so much out there. DH and I used to ahve a group we played D&D with years ago...you know the old fashioned way with reference books, dice and face to face with people.. :D
I've got a whole crate of those books..are they collectors items yet?
