I have a 55 gallon tank has walnut trim. The tank is cracked twice though, but on the same peice of glass. This tank could definatly be repaired if you wanted to use it for fish. It would also be good for a snake or other pets that don't need a full tank of water.

One of the cracks is half as long as the tank and the other is a semicircle that is about 8" in diameter. But since both cracks are on the same peice of glass, the peice of glass can be replaced and the tank will be ok to use. There are also two chips in the glass in the corner.

If your skilled at fixing things, you can replace the glass by taking of the trim of the tank by scraping the silicon away with a razor blade. Then scrape away the silicon between the panes of glass. A glass factory can cut you a peice of glass that will fit the tank. Add some silicon glue ($8 at bigalsonline) to the perimeter of the glass and fix it in place. Glue the border back on and let the tank cure. Then it will be fixed and can be used for fish.

I started taking the silicon glue off the the trim and between the glass panes so you have a head start if that what you want to do. If you want to keep pets that don't need water, you can just use silicon glue to glue the cracks.

I'm not sure if anyone would be interested in a tank to be repaired but I thought I would post anyway. The main reason I am selling it is because I have an oak hood and stand. I am looking for an oak 55 gallon tank to replace this one.

I can post pictures if anyone is interested.

Pickup in Cincinnati only.
