I just bought some new air stones that are about 10" long I want to put one on each side running across the back wall of my tank. The problem is that air will then get into my filter pickup(aquaclear 200 on a 55gal). I can avoid this by putting the filter more in the middle of the tank. Any thoughts?

Thanks
:)

With the added circulation that the airstones will be creating, I think your filter will work fine in the middle - however, depending on how many and what type of fish you have, you might want to go with a larger filter - the aquaclear 200 (now called the aquaclear 50) is rated for 10-30 gallon tanks. The Aquaclear 70 (formerly called the Aquaclear 300) is rated for 30-55 gallon tanks.
