In the evenings i notice my Dojo laying on the bottom of the tank belly up. First time i saw that I thought he had died, but that little stinker was fooling me. He must just like to lay on his back, because he does all the time now. And as soon as there is a weather front moving in he is so active, hence the "weather loach" term!

They are pretty cool, I've seen mine go spastic like an elastic band flung across the tank. Othertimes they swim in unison together winding around each other kind of like synchronized swimmers. I'd like to tape it and put it to music lol. I find myself watching them in between tv commercial breaks to the point I miss scenes of Law and Order!

Although they dig up my plants and keep me replanting, I just love these fish and would always keep them. Try feeding a skinned frozen pea and watch the fun. I just discovered I have 2 females.

A pea?, that's interesting. I am planning to get another possibly. Mine doesn't dig up my plants but then again i have bigger type gravel in my tank.

Don't worry about the gravel, these guys are very hardy. I had them in sand and now in medium sized gravel. I threw in some malaysian trumpet snails a few months ago. I wouldn't be surprised if these are what they are after under the gravel. Try the skinned pea, you'll see him sniffing for it once its in the water...like a bloodhound until he finds it. I do the peas as a treat once a week, it gives them gas and you'll notice bubbles afterward. :o

The pea has to be skinned. Remove the hard exterior shell of the pea. This is undigestible, and if you don't remove it, the pea will go untouched.
