Platy getting fatter and fatter.......

I have 3 Female platys and one male platy..
I bought them all at the same time..
They were all the same size
But lately I have been noticing one female platy’s bell getting bigger. :rolleyes:
Its 1.5 times the size of the other platys (belly wise)
Their length are the same a little more then an inch.
the fat female is all red in color....

Could she be pregnant? :) I did not see a gray shot above her anal fin.
I though my platys were too young. :eek:

Like always any help, comments, advice or suggestions are most appreciated :bowing:
 
Mostly females are bigger than males, so they can cary there fry I guess. You could be over feeding also, feed 1 small meal twice daily and you can also fast your fish for a few days. Moslty when they are pregnant, then they will have that greyish black spot on them. Sorry if my grammer is bad. :D
 
No gray shot = Not pregnant… right…

But her belly is quite fat, I think I am not over feeding I only fee a little amount that the fish gobble up in 2~3 mins.

Also when do platies become sexual mature.. in terms of size…
2 inches may be….
 
If your female platy is pregnant (if she has been around a platy male, she most likely is) then her belly will grow progressively bigger. Her belly will gradually grow into a boxy shape as she gets closer to dropping fry. Another thing to look for is black eyes of the fry in her belly. It's easiest to see this when she swims between you and a light source.

I just went through this for the first time with my Sunburst platy a month ago. I have around 20 fry that are growing in another tank as a result of a single drop. Good luck!
