I have a lelupi in my 55 gallon. Latley his or her tail has turned very dark. Its just that part of it, the rest of the body is normal yellow color. Is this normal or something I need to worry about?

Do you have dark, medium or light colored substrate?
The lighter the substrate, the brighter the color they tend to be. If you have dark colored substrate, you might want to mix in some lighter colored sand or crushed coral. Also, you might try some "color food" for cichlids, and though I've never tried it, I've read that mysis (sp?) shrimp are good for their color as well.
My male leleupi is a very nice, bright yellow, but my female is a paler yellow with a smoky smudge of dark coloration on her nose. She is a newer acquisition than my male though, and I am hoping she will match his coloration eventually, but we'll see. Good luck!
