Add 2 males and 5 or six females, if you are interested in breeding them.

Not to hijack the thread :o , but you can keep several males together without any females right? I have two, and wouldn't mind a few more, but I don't want fry

I have two males I inherited. They obviously dislike one another, but guppy aggression is sort of like saying loud mute. Oh, and my previous post was for stocking the 29 gallon.

There is no problem keeping more males than female if you not interested inbreeding them.
For breeding it is best to keep it atleast 3 females to each male. IF you have more males than females, the male will contantly harrass the female that she will be too stressed for breeding.

Yeah, I tend to keep trios of live bearers.
So harlocks original count is pretty good. Just make sure you do regular water changes and they should do pretty well for you.
