I just went to the Home Depot, looking for some sand. And I was told that Oldcastle sand is what I was looking for. However when I got there it said on the bag Do Not Use In Aquariums. Is there another kind of sand that Old Castle distributes or should I just ignore the warning? It's still early in the year so they dont have everything out yet.

Thanks alot,
Chris

The warning is their attempt to prevent you from buying it cheaply--they've started marketing the product to aquariasts for more. Check to verify that it is aragonite--the same name, but the source varies regionally, with some being aragonite and some being silica. If you can find a little spilled sand, bring along a small jar with a bit of vinegar--dump the sand in, and if it fizzles, it's aragonite. It's fine to use if it's silica as well, just doesn't assist in buffering the tank.
