Just found a 55g with stand and everything with it, bio-wheel, minus the hood, for 50 bucks!!!! I am taking a look at it tomorrow, I will post pictures to see hwta you guys think!

That sounds like an awesome deal. If all you have to buy is a hood, you've got a great deal. I bought my 55 used. Came with gravel, no decorations, a filter, no heater and the stand as well as a gravel vac. I paid $100 for mine and thought I got a bargain. If you got yours for $50, you made a steal.
I got a 60 g with stand and tops, and a few miscellaneous items for 100 dollars!! Good find, I would buy it regardless and if you have any problems or it leaks you could always resell it for a lizard or snake tank, or whatever and at the very least get your money back!

don't you love those deals i have purchased most of my tanks used my two 29 gal i bought for 125 with everything one was only missing the stand the other had stand both had hoods and heaters filters gravel extra plants everything i would have ever needed of coure i added to them but hey what a deal i had found and then there is my five gallon complete with everything for 4 dollars and my twenty gallon i found for 3 dollars yes thats right 3 dollars it had everything but the hood which i am purchasing this weekend ...dont you love these type of deals? although i would have to admit i am a little jealous i would love a larger tank now ..great find ...

Check your local buy and sell papers. A few months back I got a 77g with hood/lights and a background for $40. Tank has a slight leak, but still a dang good deal.
